  18. Columbian Exchange—It is contact between Columbus and the natives that led to an exchange of plants, animals, and diseases that altered life on both sides of the Atlantic
  19. Northwest Passage—A water route to Asia through North America sought by European explorers
  20. Coureur de bois—A French trapper living among Native Americans
